White Mass honors two for ‘compassionate, selfless service’

On the same day a 19th century American Franciscan Nursing Sister was canonized in Rome, healthcare professionals serving in the U.S. and in mission hospitals and clinics around the world were honored at the annual archdiocesan White Mass at St. Jerome Church in Los Angeles Oct. 21.

Msgr. Thompson, retired St. Margaret Mary pastor, dies at 77

Funeral arrangements were pending at press time for Monsignor Patrick Thompson, 77, pastor emeritus of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque in Lomita, who died Oct. 20 in Glendale where he was living in retirement at Incarnation Church.

At St. Paul: 'We are one family'

Or, as stated by parish administrator pro tem, Guadalupe Missionary Father Maurilio Franco, “We have one community, with one heart, written in three different languages. Our goal is to have a prayerful community. And if education is part of our goal, all else will follow.”
