Honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe: ‘Your faith inspires me!’
Rain and cloudy skies failed to deter dance groups and floats representing parishes and schools throughout Southern California — more than 25,000 people altogether — from participating Dec. 2 in the 81st annual procession and Mass honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe. The three-mile walk along Cesar Chavez Avenue to East Los Angeles College Stadium included Archbishop José Gomez, who presided at the Mass where concelebrants included Cardinal Roger Mahony, Auxiliary Bishops Gerald Wilkerson, Edward Clark and Alexander Salazar, and priests from local parishes.
