In a tumultuous year for Catholic-Jewish relations, women of both religious groups will come together Nov. 11 for the 33rd annual Catholic-Jewish Women's Conference at the Cathedral Our Lady of the Angels Conference Center.
"Scripture and Tradition: Battleground or Common Ground?" is the theme of the event, scheduled 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Morning keynote addresses will be given by Dvora E. Weisberg, Ph.D., associate professor of Rabbinics and director of the School of Rabbinic Studies at Hebrew Union College (HUC-JIR), and Laurie Wright-Garry, Ph.D., assistant professor of Religious Studies at Mount St. Mary's College.
A question-and-answer period and cultural experience will follow the presentations. After lunch, conference participants will take part in small dialogue groups. A registration fee of $40 includes continental breakfast, beverages and lunch. The student fee is $25; scholarships are available.
