The Office for Worship is offering formation classes and workshops for cantors, lectors and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, for which pre-registration is now being accepted.

Two eight-week Cantor A formation classes will be held for music ministers who lead the assembly in singing during the liturgy. One session will be presented Wednesday evenings (6:30-8:30 p.m.), Sept. 9 to Oct. 28, at St. John Eudes Church, Chatsworth; another on Tuesday evenings (7-9 p.m.), Oct. 6 to Nov. 24, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Downey.

Cost for each class is $120 (plus book fees). Each class requires a minimum of 12 registrants, with a maximum of 15. More information, including registration form, requirements, and recommendation forms for the music director and pastor to sign, is available from the Office for Worship, (213) 637-7262, or online at: www.archdiocese.la/prayer/worship/index.php, and clicking on "Cantor Certification Classes" on the right side of the screen.
