| A week of summer school isn't a bad deal --- especially when there is all kinds of fun mixed in.
In Lompoc 120 youngsters from preschool to sixth grade in learned about their faith through arts, crafts, games, films and music during the week ended June 12 at La Purísima Concepción Church's seventh annual Vacation Bible School. Another 45 teenagers --- from junior high to college freshmen, many of whom had been through Bible School as students in years past --- helped lead activities, coordinated by school director Anita Tubbs and DRE Suzann Oseguera.
"The parents start calling us in February and March, they're so anxious to get their kids involved," said Oseguera. "Most of the kids we have are from La Purísima; we get some from other churches as well. It's a wonderful evangelization opportunity for us, and the families really love it." |
