In Santa Barbara: Mission artwork,
Piczek-style

text only version

The six California missions located in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles have been depicted in numerous ways, utilizing all manner of art media. Among the most colorful is the series of stained glass windows at Holy Cross Church in Santa Barbara, as designed by noted liturgical artist Isabel Piczek. Over the course of 20 years, and under the administration of three pastors (Msgr. Thomas Hayes, Msgr. John Young and Josephite Father Ludovic De Clippel), Piczek has created a variety of artwork, including these stained glass renditions of Missions San Gabriel, San Fernando, San Buenaventura, Santa Barbara, Santa Inés and La Purísima Concepción.
