Congress plans diverse entertainment

Locally, nationally and internationally-known artists will again be a part of the Religious Education Congress Weekend Feb. 26-March 1.

On Youth Day Feb. 26, the special entertainment events at Congress feature inspirational music from Jacob and Matthew, keynote speaker ValLimar Jansen and Josh Blakesley and his band.

On Feb. 27, Matt Maher and his band provide lunchtime entertainment in the Anaheim Convention enter Arena). Later that evening in the Arena, Monica's Joy, the youth choir from St. Monica Church in Santa Monica, will be ministering through music with Catholic artist and composer Father Liam Lawton, under the direction of Ed Archer. Monica's Joy --- comprised of students and alumni of St. Monica's High School choir, Rainbow Riders, as well as other youth from the community --- have not only shared their gifts locally, but throughout the greater Los Angeles area, and sing each Sunday at St. Monica's 1:15 pm. Mass.

On Feb. 28, three events around the Anaheim Convention Center will present Jess Manibusan (Arena), Josh Blakesley and Trevor Thompson (Hall B), and the Vietnamese Folk Dance Troupe/Lasallian Youth with Brother Fortunat Phong (Outdoor Stage). In the evening Arena event, "The Sounds of Mariachi" presents Pedro Rubalcava, Anna Betancourt (of St. Linus Church, Norwalk), Eleazar Cortés and Donna Pena.

On March 1, the lunchtime entertainment includes two performances: Pena, Rubalcava and Santiago Fernandez (Hall B), and Meredith Dean Augustin and John Angotti (Arena).
