House of Prayer for Priests welcomes new associate director
LOS ANGELES --- Jesuit Father Paul Bernardicou, former master of novices for the California Province of the Society of Jesus and former rector of the LMU Jesuit Community, has been named the new associate director of the Cardinal Timothy Manning House of Prayer for Priests.

He succeeds Jesuit Father James S. Torrens, who has served for the last three years as associate director following a term as director. Father Torrens is leaving for a new assignment to minister to the priests and people in the Diocese of Fresno.

Members of Brothers of the Good Shepherd, who have staffed the House of Prayer for Priests since its expansion in 1995, will no longer be serving at the facility as of June 30.

"With the greatly increased use of the House of Prayer by our priests, it is now necessary to restructure the general operations and administration to handle current and future needs there," said Cardinal Roger Mahony. "We are all deeply grateful for the service of the Brothers over the years, especially for those who are currently serving there: Brother Malachy Corbett and Brother Mateo Fenze."
